Newton College shines at First Lego League, Alicante

The Year 8 and Year 9 team from Newton College earned 5th place in the First Lego League Alicante, standing out in robotics and innovative projects.

What an incredible achievement! Last Saturday, our talented Year 8 and Year 9 students took part in the First Lego League Alicante at the University of Alicante, and we couldn’t be prouder. Out of 10 competing teams, Newton College secured a fantastic 5th place, proving just how much skill, creativity and teamwork went into their performance. 

The First Lego League is no ordinary competition - it’s a thrilling international challenge where young minds design and program robots using only LEGO, all while developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. Our students embraced every aspect, from engineering and coding to presenting their ideas with confidence and flair. 

The team was made up of some truly outstanding students. From Year 8, we had Tula, Mónica, Julia, Juno, Irene and Marina, while Year 9 was represented by Manolo, Rares and Sascha. Together, they worked tirelessly, combining their strengths to create something truly special. Their dedication and enthusiasm shone through in every round. 

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our teachers. A huge thank you to Javi, Adrián and Aurora for guiding, encouraging and inspiring the team every step of the way. Their hard work behind the scenes made all the difference. 

This is just the beginning - we can’t wait to see what our brilliant students achieve next. Here’s to many more exciting challenges ahead!
